What is TravelStash?
Basically, TravelStash is a blog. It’s a blog with a map. It also lets you keep a wishlist of places you want to visit. For now, here’s a taste of what will be available on TravelStash soon.
Create a group, invite your friends and blog together
Create your own group or join your friends’ group then set up a trip and blog all about it. That’s the whole idea of TravelStash – tell everyone about your holidays. It’s a place where you have your own personal blog that is totally geared towards people like you who like to travel. When you create a group you can choose a unique name that identifies everything you post on TravelStash. Once you’ve created your group you can invite your friends to join your group so they can create trips, add articles to existing trips or just help you manage the group. Who knows, they might’ve seen something you didn’t see on the holiday and want to tell people about it …
- Each travel blog can be tagged with a city and country – for the map geeks out there you map your articles using map coordinates too.
- Each blog can have its own collection of photos that you can upload when you create the blog or later.
- People can comment on your blogs too. After all, everyone has something to say, right? Don’t worry though, if someone or something posts a comment you don’t like you don’t have to show it. The power is in your hands.
- And last but most definitely not least you can show people your group, trips or blogs on a map! Every group, its trips and the blogs will be uniquely mapped – people can even see the routes your trips took.
Create a wishlist of places you want to visit …
Found some interesting places you desperately want to visit and don’t know where to save links to them? Use your TravelStash account to save links and ideas so you can access them from anywhere with an Internet connection.
This is a feature that we reckon you’ll love. Every member of TravelStash has their own page within the site that contains all your wishlist items. You can export your wishlist to PDF then print the PDF in a handy ready-to-carry format. There’s nothing like being without a computer and still knowing the cool places you need to see! Let’s face it, your laptop ain’t gonna work everywhere!
Browse other people’s trips!
Keep in touch with family and friends by reading their TravelStash stories, looking at their photos and leaving them comments. TravelStash uses easy-to-read website addresses that you are free to give to anyone you want.
Because we’re geeks too, we’ve created an RSS feed for your group too. RSS feeds are a way of making sure you are always up-to-date on your friends’ groups.
Control is everything
Once you’re an authenticated member of TravelStash (you must confirm your email address once you join) you can login to your control panel. Your control panel allows you to :
- Create new groups
- Edit existing groups
- Invite members to your groups
- Create trips
- Edit trips
- Delete trips
- And much more …
So, what next?
New member registrations on TravelStash will be available soon.
In the meantime, why not check out Chris & Annie’s or Sanjay & Rheanna’s group!
